An Australian IT site (aptly named "Australian IT") reports that commercial CMS provider Vignette
has struggled recently due in part to competition from open source CMS solutions like Joomla. In the article, industry analyst John Brand reports there is "competition from open source web content management solutions such as Joomla, OpenCMS, Bricolage, and around 50 to 100 other niche commercial and open source packages."

The interesting part of this is that it suggest that companies big enough to afford Vignette are sometimes choosing Joomla over something that costs a minimum of $75,000 (source: http://www.intelligententerprise.com). Ok, to me, that's a no brainer. But to the CIO with a large budget and a "you get what you pay for" attitude", choosing Joomla over Vignette would be a big deal.
